When you first log in to PLM 360, your immediate landing page is what we call a Dashboard. It’s personal, to you. One of the sections titled ‘My Outstanding Work’ is our focus for this Feature Friday. Now, at first glance you might think PLM 360 has a gallery for your own wonderful, beautifully executed efforts in PLM 360 where you beat that Milestone and saved the day.
Nope. Sorry. It’s your to-do list in PLM 360. Whether set by you or someone else, it lists the action items for you. From this section on the Dashboard, you can see across every workspace, the milestone, state, date set, and the individual who set the item.
Fun Fact: By default, they will list with the ‘State Set On’ descending. Click this column to reverse the sort to put the oldest items on top. Be ready for the little red milestone flags that bubble up to the top when doing this – those are the items to focus on.
Now, you can always get back to your home page/dashboard any time. Click the little house icon or your company logo to get ‘home’, expand your Outstanding Work, and get to the next item that needs your attention. While this works and is a good way to navigate PLM 360, there are ways to save some time here and there by using the Dashboard link in the upper right corner of your PLM site.
When you find yourself in a Workspace, navigating through Items therein that you are responsible for, you can narrow down and expose the ones that are outstanding by clicking this Dashboard link. It will temporarily drop down and expose your outstanding items for that specific workspace you’re in. In my example below, I am in the CAPA Workspace, and focused on those items where I am part of the workflow.
This helps you stay in the workspace, and jump to the next item in the list that needs your workflow attention. Tip: the sort by date works here too! Be sure to click the Dashboard button again to collapse it, and return that real estate to your browser.
