I’m fresh off the plane from my first AU and excited about all the blog ideas I got sitting in on PLM 360 classes and talking with our customers (and pretty sure if I lay off the cat photos they’ll let me keep contributing to the blog!). Did you know you can write information into the change log via the scripting function Logger.log()?
Quick example for you guys (I picked this up from the AU Class PL3655-P - You Can Do That?! Scripting with Autodesk® PLM 360, Part 1).
Quick Action script that will put some text in the change log:
Put that on a workflow transition:
And now when I create a new record in that workspace, you can see in the change log the comments:
Ta-da! The ability to add more information to the change log. I’ll try to come up with some more detailed PLM use cases for this and present in a PLM Talk, but didn’t want to leave you guys Feature Friday-less. ^MS
