The August update of Autodesk PLM 360 had lots of goodies in it! You can read about all of them here (as well as see what’s been new in the past releases). Today we’ll cover how you can create items at the same time you link them in the Bill of Materials, Linked/Workflow Items, Relationships, and Project Management Tabs.
A few weeks ago I gave some relationship advice on the blog in the Creating Relationships Easily in PLM 360 post. Now when you use that feature, you’ll notice the new addition of a ‘Create New’ link in the lower left corner. Selecting that will bring up a dialog where you can identify which workspace the item to add resides and fill in any required fields to create.
This functionality meets the needs of a submission we got on the Idea Exchange (be sure to visit there when you have product improvement feedback!). The customer wanted the ability to create a new change order from an item record and add it to the affected items tab.
This new feature reduces the number of steps it takes to perform these tasks big time! ^MS
